What We Teach

About Our Courses
Our courses give our students an opportunity to socialize and develop good relationships with their peers, with exciting activities introducing them to the ideas and concepts that they will need in order to progress. The presentation of entertainment stresses the need for love and respect and cultivates good manners, gratitude and politeness. The reactions students receive from their new found skills to amaze and amuse, builds a positive self-image and a positive attitude to life. As the students move through this phase, more emphasis is placed on continued practice. This improves physical control, motor skill, hand-eye coordination, concentration, focus, reflexes, timing and rhythm. Other observable development includes memory, divergent thinking, language, creativity, expression, imagination and observation.

There are two basic courses in English & Greek:

  • Youth Courses - Boys & girls 7 years and older
  • Adult Courses - Students 18+ learn introductory courses about magic and showmanship.
Students can progress through a sequential series of  selected courses to extend their skills and build on development.

Since 2012, over 2500 students have participated in our courses at the Summer Camp of the American College of Greece that is based in Athens.

What We Teach

  • Close-Up Magic is performed with the audience close to the magician, sometimes even one-on-one. Sleight of hand plays an important role in this field of magic.
  • Card Magic is a type of close-up magic that utilizes playing cards and related items to create magical effects.
  • Stage Magic is performed for a medium to large audience and includes manipulation of balls, cards, doves, rabbits, silks, rope and other objects.
  • Manipulation is performed on stage and demonstrates manual skill and dexterity using cards, balls, coins, ropes, rings, and other objects.
  • Mentalism is performed close-up or on stage and utilizes storylines like telepathy, psychic phenomena or ESP to theme an effect or routine.
  • Mathematical Impossibilities are taught to students helping them improve their arithmetic skills.
  • Optical Illusions & Mechanical Puzzles are displayed and discussed on how they are part of our everyday lives.
  • Lateral Thinking and brainteasers teach children problem solving skills, logic and how to view certain problems from a different perspective.
  • Showmanship is explored and it’s importance on how it is applied while performing magic effects.
*The art of magic is taught by accomplished members of the IBM Hellenic Ring and is purely theatrical.
*Any other connotations that the word ‘magic’ may have do not apply to the entertaining art form which compromises the basis of our innovative education.
